6 Clothing Optional Beaches

In the United States

There is nothing like fun in the sun. Anytime that one travels, fun in the sun, enjoying nature, and just relaxing is a must. Relaxation and fun in the sun is even better when you have options and can be liberated in every way possible without the restriction of cloth and materials.

One may even question such places to relax. If you're reading this, then you are about to embark on a journey to some of the best clothing optional beaches on the east coast United States.

Haulover Beach, located in Miami-Dade County, is one of the most popular clothing optional beaches to visit year round. Positioned between Bal Harbor and Sunny Isles Beach, Haulover offers a plethora of cafes, restaurants, and other attractions. It is family friendly and you have a beautiful view of the ocean. Whenever you are there, you can enjoy music, meet new people, and can even have a dance-off if you like.

Thankfully, I was able to visit Haulover Beach in 2015. I went with my best friend of over seven years, Navi. Me being the naturist that I am, I was fulfilling a long-awaited dream by visiting Haulover. Haulover is one beach you don't want to skip while in Miami.

Gunnison Beach in Sandy Hook, New Jersey is the largest clothing-optional Beach in the Northeastern United States. Gunnison Beach offers excellent, stirring views of Brooklyn and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

During the summer, especially during Independence Day, Gunnison Beach is one of the sunniest beaches to visit. With parties, good clean family fun, and plenty of sunscreens, you are guaranteed to have an awesome fun-filled time being on the sand, riding the waves, and living carefree.

San Gregorio in San Mateo, California is a great beach to visit in the Western part of the United States. With a stunning setting on the coast of the Pacific, this beach is the oldest nude beach in the United States.

Although it is popular among the LGBT members of the community, straight visitors tend to gather on the southern side, while gay members migrate towards the northern sands. This two-mile-long town beach is perfect for everyone to view the sunset. This clothing optional beach is a perfect romantic getaway. It is also a scenic source of inspiration if you are a thespian or creative person.

Another California Beach that I would recommend would be Baker Beach. Located in the Presidio of San Francisco, Baker Beach provides a divine view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Baker Beach also gives a little taste of the 1960s San Francisco. However, we do recommend that you don't get in the water as the Pacific is vehemently cold.

Our next beach takes us to Hawaii. Little Beach in Maui is perfect for surfing, swimming, bodysurfing, whale watching, and some textile free sunbathing. Although the status of clothing optional is unofficial, Little Beach has been drawing naturists for decades and offers a secluded, sheltered location on the southern location of the island. This location makes you want to peel off layers and enjoy life.

Another Hawaiin clothing optional getaway transports us to the eastern tip of Big Island. Kehena Beach is known for its black sands. Kehena Beach is off of the tourist trail and allows one to enjoy clothing optional vacations in a private, secluded setting. Those that attend the beach are able to hike down a rugged, lava-rock trail that allows them to be hidden from nosey people that want to get a looky look and those enjoying their time on the beach.

These are just a list of beaches that I would recommend in the United States. While some beaches are officially clothing optional, some are unofficially clothing optional. As with any beach, be sure to pack plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, food, music, and a mind to enjoy yourself.

Remember to liberate yourself. Your existence will thank you.
