Best Vacation Spots in the US

Browse this list of the best vacation spots in the US to find your next getaway destination.

Are you planning your next get-away, but don't want to book a plane ticket that will take you through customs? We have created a list of the best vacation spots in the US, because it's often forgotten how many amazing places there are, just within reach.

From Honolulu to Walt Disney World, there is a destination for everyone. Start your consideration process with these top vacations in America's boundaries.

Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is one of the best vacation spots in the US because of the childhood memories that are constantly created there. However, this is a vacation destination that can be enjoyed by all ages. Drink your way around the world in Epcot, enjoy some fine-dining at the nicest restaurants (our top favorite is Be Our Guest,) or get some thrill on exciting roller coasters like Rockin' Roller Coaster.

Some of the top attractions include the Cinderella Castle (of course), the great dining, the Tower of Terror, eating around the world at Epcot, and the Disney Hotels.

New York City

New York City is one of the best vacation spots in the US, if not the number one recommended travel destination. Considered one of the most populated cities in the United States, the population is over 8.5 million people. If you've never experienced the fast-paced atmosphere of the city, it's something you need to do at least once in your life.

With so many things to do, some of the most popular attractions are Central Park, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, seeing a Broadway production, visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and touring the American Museum of Natural History.

Grand Canyon National Park

Arizona is calling your name, as home to one of the "Wonders of the World," the Grand Canyon should be on everyone's travel bucket list. Before you decide on this trip, it's important to do a bit of research, so you can truly understand the incredible national park.

Be sure to visit the view from the South Rim, as it's one of the most breathtaking landscapes in America. Plus, it's even one of the most affordable destinations to visit in the United States.

Las Vegas

As one of the best vacation spots in the US that can be done in just two days, Las Vegas should be a destination spot for everyone who wants to get away from reality for a weekend.

Known for its nightlife, of course, and the mass variety of entertainment, a Vegas trip is worth trying. The focal point of the city is the strip, which is 4.2 miles in length. Known for its casinos and resorts, it's one of the most visited tourist spot in Nevada.

San Francisco

Planning a trip to California? San Francisco is one of the top places in the state, and should be on everyone's list of dream vacations. As one of the most beautiful US neighborhoods, the views are breathtaking.

From sightseeing to nightlife, there are a plethora of activities to do during your vacation here. While there, you have to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, the Ferry Building Marketplace, and the Golden Gate Park. Feeling fancy? Stay at the Ritz-Carlton!

Boston

Boston is also one of the best vacation spots in the US because of its museums, parks, eateries, and walkable streets. As one of the best places to go on a walking tour, Boston brings millions of visitors to its city every year.

As the capital of Massachusets, Boston is also a historic city, as it's home to many "firsts." The first subway system, public school, public library, and public park all originated here. What to do? Visit Fenway Park, Boston Common, and the Freedom Trail.

Washington DC

Our nation's capital is a destination that every American should visit at least once in their lifetime. Named after George Washinton, the city is historic in many ways.

Some of the places that you must stop by during your visit are the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, the Washington Monument, and the National World War II Memorial. Plus, there's always great food, arts, and nightlife, besides the historic aspect to the capital.

Yellowstone National Park

Another great national park for a vacation destination is Yellowstone. As one of the best vacation spots in the US, Yellowstone is the first national park in the world.

Known for its breathtaking meadows, pools, geysers, springs, trails, and wildlife, this is one of the top places to enjoy nature's beauty. Learn about the history of the park, as it's located in three states, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Yellowstone is one of the best national parks in the US, and you need to plan a trip soon.

Honolulu

Of course, we had to mention one of Hawaii's most popular islands. Ranked as the top beach in the country, Honolulu is one of the most beautiful destinations you will find in America. As Hawaii's capital, the city is known for its uniqueness, the Waikiki Beach, as well as the volcano, though it's thankfully dormant.

Make sure you visit the Waikiki Beach, the Pearl Harbor and the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial, and the Sunset Beach to get the best out of your trip.

New Orleans

New Orleans is one of the best vacation spots in the US because of its vast culture. As a city that is known for its food, mysticism, and architecture, the destination revolves around the theme of music, specifically Blues, Jazz, and Rock 'n' Roll. Plus, it's the number one place to celebrate Mardi Gras.

What to do? Visit Frenchmen Street, the French Quarter, as well as the Garden District. Besides partying during Mardi Gras, the city is also home to a lot of history.
